Position Overview

Reporting to the Head of Research and Localisation, you will be part of the team responsible for localisation of the studio’s various games as well as proofreading original content before it is delivered for localisation. You’ll be an ambassador of quality, ensuring that we continue to deliver best in class games to our players through our localisation efforts.

Key Responsibilities

The successful applicant will be expected to:

  • Proofread all content before delivery for localisation
  • Manage freelance translators
  • Source and assess new translators
  • Test, evaluate and implement localisation tools
  • Write and maintain documentation related to tools and localisation
  • Develop and maintain style guides
  • Develop and maintain glossaries
  • Train translators on tools and localisation processes
  • Improve work-flows and processes
  • Work with coding/tools team on internal tools for dealing with in-game text
  • Triage, assign and process localisation related bug reports in Helix bug management software
  • Write, maintain and schedule test plans and checklists
  • Provide daily scrum updates
  • Work closely with producers of the studio’s various games
  • Work closely with SEGA Localisation QA department
  • Provide customer support via community forums
  • Work closely with localisation team to immediately rectify critical issues
  • Contribute to hands-on testing efforts
  • Ensure feature implementation for localisation meets design requirements

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Localisation, English, media, publishing, journalism or equivalent degree
  • Mother tongue English speaker
  • Excellent writing, spelling, punctuation and grammar skills
  • Ability to write in a consistent, clear and concise manner
  • Good knowledge of Football Manager and football
  • Interest in localisation and language
  • Interest in personal development of knowledge and skills in this area
